The influenza virus, or 'flu' as it is commonly known, is not the same as the common cold, in fact it is a potentially serious viral infection that can last for weeks and stop you from carrying on with your normal activities.
The good news is that influenza can be effectively treated but it's all about acting fast, as soon as you experience the first symptoms.
This website will help you understand more about influenza and, in particular, the difference between influenza and the common cold. It is not intended to replace the advice of your doctor or pharmacist.
